Mossel Bay boasts with two Blue Flag beaches. The Santos beach area is the main beach area in Mossel Bay itself and Hartenbos beach has become very popular as well over the last few years.
The Origin of Man Hiking Trail is a wonderfully scenic combination of rocky coastline, interesting caves and rock formations, great oceans views and amazing fynbos plantlife.
Being situated in the Garden Route, golf plays a big part in our town. Not only home to Louis Oosthuizen and Lee-Anne Pace, but also home to 2 great golf courses.
Whale watching can be done in season. It is normally between August and November. The whale migrate to our bay each year to calf in the calmer warmer waters.
One of the great activities is taking an boat trip out to Seal Island from the harbour. On this trip you will see the 2500 Cape fur Seals that inhabit the island.
Our lighthouse in Mossel Bay is still fully operational and can be visited during the day. Spectacular views can be seen. Be sure to bring your camera.
We are surrounded by 4 of South Africa’s top game reserves. The furthest one is about an hour’s scenic drive away and the other are all less than 30 minutes away.
